Oil Filters

Most Suburban Tire Auto Repair Centers locations proudly install oil filters supplied by Napa Auto Parts. Their filters are manufactured by Mann + Hummel, the German manufacturer that also makes the WIX and Purolator brands. Considered the world’s best oil filters, Mann+Hummel oil filters are installed at the factory as Original Equipment in many BWM, Mercedes, Porsche, and other high end luxury vehicles.

For most vehicles, we use the Napa Proselect oil filter, which is an outstanding filter for most of today’s vehicles. For our more discerning customers, you can bump up to a Napa Gold filter for only $10 more.

Air Filters

Like a long-distance runner, your engine needs to breath, taking in oxygen to ignite the fuel in the engine. A typical 3.5 liter, V6 engine running at 7,000 RPM consumes 1100 cubic feet of air per gallon of gas burned. And as your engine is sucking in all that air, it is also sucking in dust, dirt, and debris. That is why a good clean air filter is critical to your engine’s operation.

A clogged air filter is like putting a mask over your engine’s mouth (and we all know how fun that is!). To keep your engine running at peak efficiency and minimize your CO2 emissions we recommend installing a new air filter every second oil change.

Cabin Air Filters

The cabin air filter in your car filters the air that enters the passenger compartment of your vehicle through the ventilation system. Yes, that’s the air you breath into your lungs. Fuel & Intake System Cleaning Services

Another service that is commonly suggested when you get an oil change is a fuel system cleaning. The fuel system regulates the flow of fuel into the combustion chamber. This typically involves running some high-powered detergents though the engine to scour out contaminants and carbon that has built up on the fuel injectors, the cylinder heads and on the valves inside of the engine.

Often this service is combined with a cleaning of the air intake system. The air intake system controls the flow of air into the combustion chamber. Over time components such as the air intake, the mass air flow sensor, and the throttle body become coated in soot and carbon particulates that effect the vehicles performance.
