Most of today’s well-known tire manufacturers have instituted a Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) policy on their best-selling tire lines. These policies prevent online sellers and big box retailers from undercutting the market by setting a standardized price for their tires nationwide, allowing everybody in the industry to make a fair profit. Any retailer that doesn’t follow the manufacturer’s MAP policy gets cut off as an authorized dealer.
